Terms of Service
Version 1.0.0 · Effective August 24, 2026
Plain version: pay for what you use, don’t abuse the service, your data stays yours, and either of us can walk away.
Your account
You need an account to use GoodTime, and you’re responsible for what happens under it — keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think it’s been compromised. Give us accurate information; if it changes, update it. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 13.
Paying for it
GoodTime is priced per account, not per person: free for nonprofits and public benefit corporations, $7 a month for one person, $25 for up to five, and $39 for up to a hundred, billed monthly or annually. Fees are charged in advance and, for a period already served, aren’t refundable. If we change pricing, existing customers get advance notice — and we said on the pricing page that we won’t do ridiculous hikes, which we intend to keep to.
Cancelling
Cancel any time in your account settings. Your account stays usable until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Export your data before or after — every report produces a CSV, and cancelling doesn’t lock you out of getting it.
Your data is yours
You keep all rights to the clients, projects, time entries, and invoices you put into GoodTime. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you — store it, back it up, display it to your team, and process it to produce your reports and invoices. We don’t use your work data to train anything, and we don’t sell it. See the Privacy Policy.
Fair use of the service
Don’t use GoodTime to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, or store material you have no right to. Don’t attempt to breach it, overload it, scrape it, or resell access to it. Everyone who tracks time needs their own login — the plan is set by how many people are on the account, so sharing one is how the figure stops being true.
Our software
GoodTime, its name, and its design belong to Software for Good. Using the service doesn’t transfer any of that to you. If you send us feedback we may act on it freely and without obligation — which we mention only so nobody is surprised, not to discourage anyone from sending it.
Availability, honestly stated
We work to keep GoodTime up and your data intact, but the service is provided as-is and we don’t currently offer a contractual uptime guarantee. Keep your own exports if your business depends on having the data to hand. We’ll give notice of planned maintenance where we reasonably can.
Ending things
You can close your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or doesn’t pay, and outside genuine abuse we’ll warn you first and give you a chance to fix it — along with the opportunity to export your data.
Changes to these terms
We’ll date any new version and notify account holders of material changes rather than quietly reposting. If a change doesn’t suit you, cancelling is always available.
